We all like saving money, but let’s face it, for some children’s ministry budgets it’s a necessity. Saving money can sometimes determine if you will have enough in the budget to make that end of the year event possible. Here are 6 websites that will help you get the most out of your children’s ministry dollar (click the titles to visit the sites):

1. Freecycle.org

This site is all about giving and getting stuff for free. People post stuff for free that they want to discard, that may be of use to someone, instead of throwing it away. Visit the site to see if there is a group page for your city.

2. PricePinx.com

I recently discovered this site and it is AWESOME. This site allows you to track any item, on almost any site, for price reductions and it will notify you when there is a change!

3. Amazon.com Used Books

On almost all books on Amazon, when you are a looking at a particular book, there is an option to view used prices for that item. Doing so will almost always save you money on the fully priced item.

4. Only144.com

Only144 is similar to Groupon, but for children’s ministry. They offer greatly reduced bundle deals for only 144 hours (hence the name). Visit their site and see what their next deal is!

5. Kidology Garage Sale

This site allows children’s ministry leaders to post their ministry related items for sale. Visit the site and see if you can find that resource you’ve been looking for at a reduced rate, or sell your own!

If you have ever joined a for sale, wanted, or free group on Facebook, that is what this is, but for children’s ministry. This is a great place to post items for sale and to browse what others have to offer!

  1. http://www.funexpress.com is a great place to save money on prizes and small giveaways. It’s like wholesale pricing on Oriental Trading merchandise. The only catch is that the site is for businesses, so you have to have a bookstore at your church to funnel the purchases through, or another business owner in your church be willing to set up an account for you to use. But the prices are fantastic! Definitely worth the extra steps to set up an account.

    • I would say that the updates are dependent upon when the particular website you are monitoring pushes them to Pricepinx. I’m not sure of the technicalities of it all. You could contact them and find out. There is another site called CamelCamelCamel.com which does the same thing, but only for Amazon products. I didn’t include it on this list because it was so similar, but that may be another option for you.
