If you have been around children sometime in the past 6 months, you know the video game, Minecraft, has taken the world by storm. You can use this popular game to teach children truths from the Bible. Use these ideas to create your own weekly Bible lessons for kids, based around Minecraft.

Week 1

Lesson Title: The Strategy Guide
Main Point: A strategy guide helps you know how to play the game the best way possible. The Bible shows us the best possible way to live our lives.
Scripture: Matthew 4:1-11; Psalm 119:105

Week 2

Lesson Title: The Wise and Foolish Builders
Main Point: In Minecraft, you want to build the best and strongest structures possible. God wants us to build our lives on Jesus.
Scripture: Matthew 7:24-27

Week 3

Lesson Title: Finding the Path
Main Point: It can be easy to get lost in Minecraft, because the world is so big. If you build paths and stick to them it makes it easier. God wants to direct our paths so we know the way to following Jesus.
Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6

  1. Thank you so so much! I’m a homeschooled highschooler and I love to play minecraft! But as a christian, I really wanted a way to incorperate God into my plays!

I want to reach the secular children, (and the adults that play, too!) on a server I play on! I own a town, and have churches and people living there, working there, and the like. I’ve been asking the Lord for months now to show me how to minister to these people in my town, and your article is the beginning of something wonderful!
    Thank you so much!
    God bless you!
    Happy Sabbath!

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your idea. It’s really wonderful. I am preparing my church VBS with minecraft theme and I want you to know that your idea is really inspiring. Thank you…… God bless you
