Here are 10 ways that you can likely tell if you have married a children’s minister:

  1. You know what KidMin means.

  2. There’s a Jim Wideman bobble head on your mantel.

  3. You both take regular trips to Toys-R-Us for “research.”

  4. Past issues of Children’s Ministry Magazines and Kidzmatter Magazines are in a basket of reading material, usually either beside the couch or in the bathroom.

  5. You can fully recognize “The Friday of Bible School week look.”

  6. You have ever had to fill in for absentee teachers at the last minute…possibly on multiple occasions. You are greatly appreciated for this, by the way!

  7. You have both rummaged through your house to find object lesson supplies.

  8. He/She considers giving out candy on Halloween a mission opportunity.

  9. Your family devotion times include a craft.

  10. You know that children’s ministry isn’t just childcare.
