Our Founder

GJ Farmer is a husband, a dad, the founder of ChildrensMinistryBlog.com, and is the Children’s Pastor at First Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. He has completed a Bachelor’s degree in Church Ministries and a Master’s degree in Children’s Ministry. He has also been fortunate to lead and teach groups at children’s ministry conferences and to have had some of his writing published. Apart from working with kids, he enjoys reading, performing magic tricks, playing video games, and University of Kentucky basketball.

Brandon has an amazing wife, Hannah, and an adorable daughter, Emery. He is passionate about helping Children's Ministry leaders further develop their gifts and talents. He loves new ideas, innovation, and collaborating with others to make those ideas and innovations even better. Brandon currently serves as the Next Gen Pastor at Centerpointe Church in Fairfax, Virginia.


Christina is wife of Pastor Luke and mom to Hannah, Naomi, and Caleb. She has been serving in ministry since 2010, first as a director of children's ministry and now as a family minister near Lexington, KY. She is passionate about helping churches transition into family ministry and equipping parents for discipleship in the home. She is currently completing studies at Wesley Seminary at IWU for a Master's degree in ministry with a focus on children, youth and family, with the desire to help churches grow their family ministries.



Emily has been serving in children's ministry consistently for over 4 years. She is currently enrolled at Columbia International University pursuing a degree in Church Ministry with a specialization in Children's Ministry. She also plays soccer for CIU. She has a passion for children to hear God's word and for them to know that He loves them.


Joy Feemster is a 20-year veteran of children's ministries and is currently the Director of Christian Education at Neely's Creek Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Her passion in life is pointing people to that "1 Thing" relationship with Jesus Christ (Luke 10:38-42).


Matt is husband to Dana, “Daddy” to Maggie and Macy, and Kid’s Pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has served in children’s ministry for 12 years and loves to see kids come to know who Jesus is and what He has accomplished for us! Matt is passionate about equipping others to serve in the local church. Check out mattmo.org to follow along with his experiences in ministry.


Roxanne oversees the Chapel Pointe Kids Ministry in Hudsonville, Michigan. She attended Liberty University and Louisville Bible College. She has a passion for the next generation and watching students and kid’s lives changed by Jesus Christ. Her heart’s desire is to come alongside families, in what they are already doing, by equipping their children to trust, love, and serve God. She is married to Kurt. They have five children, two whom are adopted.


Samarah Vermeer is passionate about equipping the next generation with the Word of God! After school, she returned to her small Iowa hometown and spent many years serving in children’s ministry, directing summer camp, and handling church finances. She is now married to her favorite farmer, volunteers in the children’s department at Family Worship Center in Sioux City, IA and writes Sunday School curriculum. Samarah is a graduate of Domata School of Missions and Rhema Bible Training Center. She loves books and bookstores, cooking and cooking shows, deep conversations and traveling to new places-- most likely with some chocolate in her purse.


Taylor is the Children’s and Preschool Minister at King of Kings Baptist Church in Cape Town, South Africa where he and his family serve as missionaries of Brentwood Baptist Church. Taylor is married to Jenai and they have a son named Graham. Taylor has served in children’s ministry since 2003 and has a Bachelors degree in Religious Studies and is currently completing his Masters in Discipleship and Family Ministry at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Outside of ministry, Taylor enjoys spending time with his family, University of Tennessee football, and anything outdoors.


Trisha Peach is the author of the recent book "Your Children's Ministry From Scratch", staff pastor of 16 years, speaker, trainer and consultant. More importantly, Trisha is a busy working wife and mom! She is also a sci-fi junkie and sushi enthusiast. Originally from Wisconsin, now based out of Carbondale, Illinois. When she's not on the road, you'll find Trisha at Elkville Christian Center, in Elkville, IL.


Vanessa Myers is the Children’s Director at Dahlonega United Methodist Church in Dahlonega, GA. She holds a Masters in Church Ministries from Duke Divinity School and is professionally certified in Christian Education through the United Methodist Church. Vanessa loves to write and share her experiences in children's ministry on her blog, KidMin Days. She is married to Andrew and they have two daughters.
